On fearing praise ("43:20"). I'm not sure if it is a feeling of inadequacy belong 'hammered into us'. Personally for me it comes from not wanting to appear self-important or 'above' others. I don't like being a show off? or making others feel small.

Man, if I could tap into just an ounce of what this fellow has, I'd? have it made.

We all play with? our feces if feces is what you said it was. More proof that our separation is an illusion. No point in arguing with you though. You're right, you're an ape. Also, I am glad you enjoy mythology too.
By: Judas130. on 23 Mar 12, 01:58:14
well, maybe in your spare time, when you're not busy playing with your faeces, you might want to check out something called 'cognitive science' - you won't understand anything, but it'll show you an 'I'. there's also something called 'psychology', in what we term 'social sciences', but these might be words a bit too big for you just yet. Also, i'm very proud to be an ape/primate/momentary collection of molecules. why not?? its all cool. bye now.
By: 88bottlesoflove. on 23 Mar 12, 00:32:59
I'm going with the flow. You're right. I am doing it. I am doing...I'm also being... Are you being? Wait...how can you...science has not shown an I....or a me....or? a you...why use the words then? Because you are a monkey face.
By: Judas130. on 22 Mar 12, 23:13:30
...you're doing it again, maybe if you focused on the more important phrases: assumed ego personality, doesn't mean 'me' - because you don't know me. you have failed to have what could have been a nice, maybe informative chat by instead just being really silly. if you can't contribute to discussion, you're just asserting your own voice as much as you quite wrongly claim I have done. I respect Buddhism, I think science works? wonderfully in Eastern narratives. You seem to be a little too childish.
By: 88bottlesoflove. on 22 Mar 12, 19:28:16
You're to sensitive to yourself. Try being more sensitive to others....if you think calling? you a stupid monkey is an attack then I don't want to be the one who cuts in front of you at the grocery store, you may end up in the jail and being visited by this noble monk and I may end up dead.
By: Judas130. on 22 Mar 12, 12:04:20
um... what? some people fear that words can kill the world dead, but there's no ego here. if i'm reducing myself to sheer materiality, I'm removing myself from the argument, trying to be objective. you're the one using all these personal pronouns in the first place, your whole comment is an attack not on what i've said but on an assumed ego personality, so if anyone here is failing to get engaged, its not me. 'sublime', the? 'numinous', these are very charged, not insulting, words. Calm down dear
By: SickHawkS. on 22 Mar 12, 09:46:10
I like Buddhism because they don't tell you bullsh-t like other religions do.. God put us here 6000 years ago..?? Are you kidding me? haha
By: 88bottlesoflove. on 22 Mar 12, 04:41:23
No it's not. I wanted to argue with you because you're wrong but instead of argueing I'm just going to tell you that faith is more than a cognitive process and have faith you will do the research on your? own instead of me pushing you along like a stupid monkey - if you are insulted, please realize that you are simply attached to your ego state of assumed genius, for we are all stupid monkeys at some point - stupid monkey.
By: Judas130. on 21 Mar 12, 00:39:48
faith is a cognitive process. you use faith when you 'love' someone. you use faith when you? use substantive terms or concepts like 'justice'. So, yes. Seeing life as it truly is: read an up-to-date university textbook on science. all of this here is faith based, rhetorical, sublime, psychologically stimulated. its aesthetics. poetry.
By: wafflelust. on 19 Mar 12, 14:16:17
Not blind faith.?
By: imaccuish. on 18 Mar 12, 06:16:15
What "beliefs and faith" are you referring to? Isn't Buddhism what you DO, not what you BELIEVE? Isn't "faith" believing in something without question or examination? How do reconcile this idea of "beliefs and faith" with the Buddha's teaching of seeing? life as it truly is?
